Patient Selection
Potential participants in these patient tests were selected at random from the scheduled/unscheduled patients in the investigating physician's office. The scope of the test and the use of gumEase® device were described in detail to each patient test candidate.

Reasons for seeking treatment

Based on detailed analysis of individual patient feedback, patients support the gumEase® as a standalone anesthetic and pain management device providing a level of anesthesia sufficient to allow almost all general dental/specialty procedures and aftercare.
Average periods of duration for gumEase® induced anesthesia across all patients reviewed indicated that with 4 gumEase® administered sequentially, the total period of anesthesia ranged from 1 minutes to 4.5 minutes (anesthesia/numbness effective at 2.5 minutes) for the first device: 4.6-23 minutes for the second; 23-41 minutes with the third and 41-53 minutes for the fourth and last device.
