Non-Invasive, Non-Narcotic Treatment for Migraines And Tension Headaches

Laguna Hills, California- September 10, 2009

BioMeDevice Ltd. today announced that the FDA approved gumEase® cryoanesthetic dental device is effective in providing substantive relief from the pain of migraine/tension headaches safely, without drugs or their unwelcome side effects.

Migraine/tension headache sufferers who voluntarily tried the gumEase® dental mouthpiece as another method to control their headache pain, stated that they were pleased with the results and that the gumEase® cryoanesthetic mouthpiece was effective in treating their headache pain without prescription medication or anesthetic gels.

Tay McClellan, Director of Science and Research for BioMeDevice said "Our analytical research coupled with the results of investigative studies conducted by Dr. Mark H. Friedman a prominent New York headache scientist, confirms that most headache sufferers have inflammation and nerve tenderness typically associated with migraine or tension headaches and facial pain localized in the maxillary third molar apical area"

Treatment using the gumEase® cryoanesthetic dental mouthpiece, consists of freezing the gumEase® device and inserting it in the oral sulci. This local application of extreme cold reduces inflammation induced swelling which puts pressure against the maxillary nerve causing the headache. Simultaneously, a regional pain block is achieved by near freezing the nerve fibers of the superior dental plexus and it's nerves, temporarily blocking the ability of the nerves to transmit pain impulses to the brain.

The gumEase® has the added advantage of being non-invasive and is reusable by the patient. It is a safe alternative for pregnant, drug sensitive, cardiac and other medically compromised patients..
